The State Duma unanimously adopted a bill on terms of up to 15 years for “fake” about the Russian military – The Moscow Times in Russian

Dissemination of knowingly false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation under the guise of reliable messages is punishable by a fine of 700,000 to 1.5 million rubles or a punishment of up to three years in prison.

For spreading a fake using one’s official position, by a group of persons or a group of persons with the artificial creation of evidence of the prosecution, the punishment will be from five to 10 years in prison. If deliberately false information entailed grave consequences, a punishment of 10 to 15 years in prison is provided.
