UK imposes sanctions on 29 Russian governors – The Moscow Times

Britain has expanded sanctions against Russia, adding 42 people to the list. 29 of them are governors Russian regions. They will be denied entry and their assets will be seized.

Restrictions included:

  • Andrey Travnikov (Novosibirsk region)
  • Evgeny Kuyvashev (Sverdlovsk region)
  • Alexander Bogomaz (Bryansk region)
  • Roman Starovoit (Kursk region)
  • Alexander Gusev (Voronezh region)
  • Igor Artamonov (Lipetsk region)
  • Gleb Nikitin (Nizhny Novgorod Region)
  • Alexander Moor (Tyumen region)
  • Alexey Teksler (Chelyabinsk region)
  • Dmitry Azarov (Samara region)
  • Roman Busargin (Saratov region)
  • Alexander Avdeev (Vladimir region)
  • Denis Pasler (Orenburg region)
  • Andrey Bocharov (Volgograd region)
  • Maxim Egorov (Tambov region)
  • Oleg Kuvshinnikov (Vologda region)
  • Vladislav Shapsha (Kaluga region)
  • Vasily Orlov (Amur Region)
  • Mikhail Razvozhaev (Sevastopol)
  • Radiy Khabirov (Bashkiria)

  • Dmitry Artyukhov (Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug)

Sanzhar and Sarvar Ismailov, the nephews of businessman Alisher Usmanov, and British stringer Graham Phillips, who used to work with RT, also fell under the sanctions.

In addition, Britain blacklisted the chairman of the Moscow-appointed government of the self-proclaimed DPR, Vitaly Khotsenko, and the first deputy chairman of the LPR government, Vladislav Kuznetsov.

It also became known that the European Union extended for 6 months the sanctions imposed against Russia because of the war in Ukraine. They will be valid until the end of January 2023.
