Roshon Primus in longest overs bowled in T20 cricket: Although there is a rule of bowling 6 balls in an over of cricket, sometimes due to no ball or wide, an over of 6 balls becomes 7-8 balls. But what happens when a bowler completes his quota of 2 overs in a single over. This is very rarely seen in cricket. But when the line and length of the bowler deteriorates, it is not known when an over of 6 balls becomes 2 or more. Something similar was seen in the 13th match of CPL 2024. In this match of CPL, Barbados Royals and Antigua & Barbuda Falcons faced each other. After losing the toss, the team of Antigua & Barbuda Falcons came out to bat first. With the help of brilliant half-centuries from openers Justin Greaves and Sam Billings, Barbuda Falcons scored a challenging score of 176 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
After this, when Barbados Royals came to bat, the line length of an Antiguan bowler deteriorated so much that a 6-ball over ended in 13 balls. Actually, Roshon Primus came to bowl in the 12th over of the innings and Quinton de Kock was standing at the crease to face the first ball.
Second longest over in T20 cricket
Roshon Primus started the over with 2 wide balls. After this, a no ball and then Quinton hit a six on the free hit. After this, the next ball was also wide. Then a single was seen on the second and third ball. Roshon Primus spent 7 balls to bowl half the over. Then Quinton was out on the fourth ball but bowled a no ball on the 5th ball. A four came on the 5th ball. There was still 1 ball left for the over to end but Roshon Primus seemed in the mood to bowl continuously. The last ball came after a wide and a no ball on which David Miller scored a four. In this way, Roshon Primus bowled a total of 13 balls in one over and conceded 23 runs.
With this 13 ball long over, Roshon Primus registered a shameful record. In fact, Primus has equaled the shameful record of bowling the second longest over in T20 cricket. The longest over in T20 cricket was of 14 balls which was bowled by a Mongolian bowler this year.
