Babar Azam’s team had to face a crushing defeat in the Champions One-Day Cup.

In the Champions One-Day Cup being organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board, Babar Azam’s team Stallions faced the team of Markhors playing under the captaincy of Mohammad Rizwan on 15 September. In this match, a brilliant bowling performance was seen from the team of Stallions in which they bundled out the Markhors for just 231, but after this their team also collapsed to a score of 105 runs and they had to face a huge defeat of 126 runs. Babar Azam was the most disappointed in this match, who once again could not manage to play a big innings after getting a good start and lost his wicket to 36-year-old leg spinner Zahid Mahmood after playing an innings of 45 runs in 44 balls.

The Stallions team, which came out to chase the target of 232 runs given by the Markhors team, did not have a good start in which they lost their first wicket at a score of just 13 runs. After this, Babar Azam and Shan Masood took the innings forward and took the score beyond 50 runs. After which Masood became the victim of Naseem Shah after scoring 19 runs. Meanwhile, Babar tried to speed up the team’s score by hitting 5 consecutive fours in an over of Dahni, but as soon as Masood was out, a series of wickets fell from one end in which Babar also became the victim of Zahid Mahmood after playing an innings of 45 runs with the help of 8 fours in 44 balls. When Babar was out, his team’s score was 79 runs and after this the whole team was reduced to a score of 105 runs.

In this match, leg spinner Zahid Mahmood played an important role in the victory of the Markhors team. He took 5 wickets for 18 runs in just 4.4 overs. Apart from this, Salman Aga took 3 wickets while Naseem Shah took 2 wickets. If we talk about the batting of Markhors, Iftikhar Ahmed was successful in playing a brilliant innings of 60 runs.
