Pakistani women’s cricket team
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) often becomes a cause of ridicule in the cricket world for its strange decisions. Due to these decisions, their players and team have also suffered a lot. Now a decision of PCB has become a problem for the players of their women’s cricket team. On one hand, while PCB is organizing the Champions One-Day Cup for male players in which it is also spending a lot of money, on the other hand, they have banned daily allowances for female players under their new policy rules. PCB’s female players are not being given daily allowances during the ongoing training camp in Multan.
PCB stopped daily allowance in the name of convenience
Before the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, the Pakistani women’s cricket team has to play a three-match T20 series against South Africa in their country, for which the players of the team announced for this series are participating in the training camp in Multan. The PCB has decided to abolish the daily allowance of the players participating in this camp, the reason behind which is the new policy of the PCB and due to this the players are facing a lot of trouble. According to a statement published on PTI by a PCB official regarding this, the players are not being given daily allowance because the board is now providing them accommodation and full meals three times a day. There was no such arrangement in the camp held earlier. At the same time, the players of the Pakistani women’s team are not considering this decision of the board to be correct.
But this policy is not applicable in men’s cricket as well
On one hand, while PCB has refused to give daily allowance to the players of the women’s team, the same policy is not implemented for the men’s cricket team as well. According to ESPN Cricinfo’s report, in the training camp before the 2-match Test series against Bangladesh, arrangements were made for the players to stay there and they were also getting three meals a day and everyone also got daily allowance.
