Shreyas Iyer Century: Currently, the match is being played between Mumbai and Maharashtra in Ranji Trophy. Mumbai team has scored 441 runs in its first innings. Shreyas Iyer, who is out of Team India, has scored a century for Mumbai. It is because of him that Mumbai team has been successful in scoring big. Iyer played an inning of 142 runs. During this, he hit 12 fours and four sixes in his innings. With scoring a century, he has been successful in completing his 6000 runs in first class cricket.
Shreyas Iyer last played for the Indian team in Test in the year 2024 against England. After that he was dropped from the team due to poor form. He did not do well in the Irani Cup and Duleep Trophy. He registered another duck in Mumbai’s opening Ranji Trophy match against Baroda last week. Now this century will give Iyer confidence.
Shreyas Iyer said this on his return
Shreyas Iyer told reporters at the end of the day’s play that it feels special to return after a very long time. I was feeling a bit disappointed because of my injuries, but now it is a great feeling to score a century after a very long time. I am absolutely looking forward to returning. But as we say, control the things that can be controlled. My job is to continue to perform well and play as much cricket as possible. It also takes care that the fitness of the body is maintained.
Were out of central contract
Shreyas Iyer was also dropped from the central contract list of the Indian Cricket Board earlier this year. He last participated in the home Test series against England in February. However, he took part in the ODI series against Sri Lanka in August. He is eager to play in the Test. I am desperate to play in the Test. That’s why I’m playing, I mean if that wasn’t the case then I could have sat looking for some reason.
