ICC inducts him into Hall of Fame on completion of seven years of retirement
Virender Sehwag was counted among the most dangerous opening batsmen in world cricket. Even today, there are many such records in the name of Sehwag in the cricket world, breaking which is not at all an easy task for any player. The ICC inducts any player into the Hall of Fame when he completes seven years of retirement from international cricket. Sehwag is the eighth player from India to receive this honour. Apart from being the 9th Indian player, Diana Edulji is also the first Indian female player. ICC has till now given place to very few women players in its Hall of Fame, in which Diana Edulji’s name has now also been included. Now Bishan Singh Bedi, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Vinoo Mankad and Sachin Tendulkar have already received this honor from India. Australia has the highest number of players in the ICC Hall of Fame so far.
Sehwag is the first player to score a triple century in Test for India.
If we look at Virender Sehwag’s international cricket, he used to play as a match-winning player. His style of playing did not change at all in Test and limited overs formats. For this reason, Sehwag became the first player to score a triple century in Test cricket from India. Sehwag has scored more than 17000 runs in his international cricket. The ICC will honor Sehwag and Diana during the semi-final match between India and New Zealand on November 15.
