The complete schedule of Ashes 2025-26 between Australia and England was announced.
The Australian cricket team has to play a 5-match Ashes Test series at home against England in the fourth edition of the World Test Championship, for which the complete schedule has been announced by Cricket Australia. In this Test series hosted by Australia, both the teams will play for the first time in the new stadium Optus in Perth. The Ashes 2025-26 will start from November 21 with the last match of the series being played from January 4 to 8 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Last time the Ashes series was hosted by the England team in which the series between the two teams ended in a 2-2 draw but the Australian team was successful in retaining the Ashes.
Day-night test match will be played at Gabba ground in Brisbane.
Cricket Australia has announced the entire schedule of the Ashes series, in which both the teams will play the first match at the new stadium Optus in Perth from 21 to 25 November, while the second match of this series will be played at the Gabba ground in Brisbane from 4 to 8 December. There will also be a day-night test match. After this, both the teams will get a long break in which the third match will be held from 17 to 21 December at Adelaide Oval Stadium. The Boxing Day Test match will be held from 26 to 30 December, the day after Christmas, while the last match of this series will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground from 4 to 8 January.
So far three day-night test matches have been played at Gabba.
This is the first time in the history of Ashes since 1982-83 that for the first time, the first Test of this series is not being played at the Gabba ground in Brisbane, hosted by Australia and Perth has got the hosting of the first Test match. The second Test between the two teams will be played with pink ball in Brisbane, in which three such matches have been played on this ground so far and last time Australia had to face defeat against West Indies here. At the same time, considering the Olympic Games to be held in the year 2032, this could also be the last match on the Gaba ground because after this, due to renovation, matches will not be played in this stadium for a long time.
