Big blow to Pakistan
Abbas Afridi New Zealand vs Pakistan T20I Series : Pakistan cricket team is currently on tour of New Zealand. A series of five T20 matches is being played in view of the preparations for the ICC World Cup 2024. The first two matches of the series have been played, which the New Zealand team has won. The Pakistani team, which was already trailing in the series, got another blow when the team’s star bowler was out.
Abbas Afridi out of the third match
The third match of the series being played between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played on 17 January. Earlier it was learned that Abbas Afridi has been ruled out of the third match. It is reported that Abbas Afridi is feeling problem due to strain in his stomach muscles, hence he will not be able to play the third match. Pakistan Cricket Board i.e. PCB has also given information about this on social media.
Abbas Afridi has made his T20 International debut against New Zealand.
Bowler Abbas Afridi is still new and has recently made his international debut. He has played two matches and in this he has managed to take 5 wickets. However, till now he has neither been able to play ODI for Pakistan nor made his Test debut. In the first match played against New Zealand, he took three wickets for 34 runs and in the second match, he took two wickets for 43 runs. Being out of the Pakistani team after such a performance is no less than a shock for the team.
New captain Shaheen Shah Afridi looking for first win
In the first match of the series played against New Zealand, Pakistan had to face defeat by 46 runs and in the second by 21 runs. PCB has recently appointed Shaheen Shah Afridi as its new captain, but ever since Shaheen became the captain, he is waiting to open the account of victory under his captaincy. There are still three more matches left in the series, it remains to be seen which player replaces Abbas Afridi and how the team performs.
