The Indian team will play a two-day practice match against Australia Prime Minister’s XI. After the practice match, a day-night test match will be played between India and Australia from 6th December. Practice match is very important for day-night test match. Now even before the start of the series against India, former Australian captain Tim Paine has got a big responsibility. He has been made the coach of Australian Prime Minister’s XI for a two-day practice match.
Tim Paine’s statement came out after becoming the coach
Tim Paine said that I think any opportunity for a young coach like me to lead the team would be a great opportunity so I am looking forward to it. I’m also looking forward to working with some of the most talented young cricketers in Australia so that will be fun. India will play five Tests on this tour for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. This will be the first time that there will be five matches in BGT.
Australia lost BGT twice under the captaincy of Tim Paine.
Tim Paine said that they (India) will play with some of their best players and they have some of the best players in the world. The 39-year-old Paine was the captain of Australia during the last two tours of India in which India won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy by the same margin 2-1. Paine, who played 35 Tests, 35 ODIs and 12 T20 Internationals for Australia, played his last international match against India in the final Test of the 2020-21 series in Brisbane in which the host team lost by three wickets at the Gabba.
Tim Paine played for Tasmania in his final first-class match in March 2023 and has also been involved as the coach of the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. The Indian team has already been announced for the series against Australia. The first match between the two teams will be played on 22 November. The Indian team has won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia for the last four times.
