A big news has come out amid the process of finalizing the players’ rules and retention scheme for IPL 2025. It is believed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may put Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the category of uncapped players while announcing the players’ rules before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Times of India has given this information.

Actually, between 2008 and 2021, there was a rule in IPL that a cricketer who had retired 5 years ago could be put in the IPL auction along with an uncapped player. This issue was also raised in the meeting held between IPL team owners and IPL administration on 31st of last month. CSK franchise had demanded to bring back this rule, which was opposed by many franchise owners. But the news that has come now can give relief to the CSK management.
