The Indian team has entered the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 by defeating New Zealand by 70 runs in a spectacular fashion. Team India has made it to the finals for the fourth time. Batting first, India gave a target of 398 runs to the New Zealand team, in response to which the Kiwi team was all out for just 327 runs. The bowlers and batsmen performed amazingly for India. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India has performed brilliantly in the current World Cup and the team has not lost a single match. Captain Rohit Sharma has given a big statement after the match.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma said after the match that I have played a lot of cricket here. No matter what the score is on this ground, you can’t relax. We had to complete our work and stick to the plan. We knew there would be pressure on us. We did not lose patience even after poor fielding on the field today. It is a long tournament, we have done well (fielding) in nine matches and this can happen in any match. We are happy that we were able to do our work successfully.

Rohit praised New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell for chasing the target brilliantly and gave credit to Mohammed Shami for his comeback in the match. He said that Williamson and Mitchell batted brilliantly. It was important for us to remain patient. At one point the crowd also went quiet, but we knew we needed a catch or a run out. After this we tried everything possible. Mohammed Shami bowled brilliantly in such a situation. Shami gave the best performance of his career by taking 7 wickets in the match. Due to his excellent game, he received the Man of the Match award.
He said that the top five-six batsmen of the team are in great form. Whenever he has got an opportunity, he has taken advantage of it. It is great to see what Shreyas Iyer has done for us in this tournament. The way Shubhman Gill batted for us was fantastic. Unfortunately he had to go out with cramps. Virat Kohli did what he is known for. He also completed his historic century.
There was pressure regarding the semi-final match
Captain Rohit Sharma admitted that the team was under pressure regarding the semi-final match. He said that today is obviously a semi-final, so I would not say that there was no pressure. There is pressure whenever you play. There is a little more pressure in the semi-finals. We didn’t want to think too much about it, just wanted to do what we’ve been doing in the first nine games.
