Musheer Khan and Rishabh Pant
Mumbai’s star batsman Musheer Khan was injured in a road accident on Friday afternoon. Musheer was going from Azamgarh to Lucknow with his father Naushad Khan and two others on Friday afternoon when their car overturned after hitting a divider on the Yamuna Expressway. Musheer’s accident once again brought back memories of Rishabh Pant’s accident. Pant’s car also overturned after hitting the divider.
In this accident, Musheer suffered neck injury while his father suffered minor scratches. Musheer was taken to a nearby hospital after the accident where doctors said that it may take at least 4 months for the young player to recover. It is being said that Musheer may have a fracture in his neck. Although this has not been confirmed yet. Musheer will now return to Mumbai this Sunday for further treatment.
Musheer Khan will return to Mumbai
Speaking to The Indian Express, an MCA official said that he met with an accident last night and will not be able to take part in the Irani Cup. He will return to Mumbai on Sunday. The medical team of MCA and BCCI is monitoring his condition. After his return, BCCI will conduct another medical test and scan on him.
Musheer’s accident has dealt a big blow to the Mumbai cricket team. Recently, in the Duleep Trophy, the star batsman scored a brilliant century which attracted the attention of the selectors. Now this accident has kept him away from the field for a long time and now he will not be able to play in the opening matches of Irani Cup and Ranji Trophy. In such a situation, Mumbai will have to find an alternative to Musheer Khan.
