Duleep Trophy 2024, IND A vs IND D: The third match is being played between India A and India D in Duleep Trophy 2024. On the first day of this match, India A’s first innings was reduced to 290 runs. In response, India D could score only 183 runs. On the second day, India A made a great start in their second innings. Opener Pratham Singh and captain Mayank Agarwal gave the team a great start and shared a 115-run partnership for the first wicket. Mayank Agarwal was dismissed after scoring a half-century. Even after Mayank was out, Pratham Singh held one end and then scored a brilliant century shortly after the start of the third day. Pratham completed his century with a four. It took him 149 balls to reach the century. During this, 11 fours and 1 six came off his bat. This is Pratham’s second century in first class cricket.
Gill’s replacement did wonders
Pratham Singh was not part of the India A team in the first match of the Duleep Trophy 2024. In the first match of the tournament, Shubman Gill opened the innings for India A along with Mayank Agarwal. But after Shubman Gill was selected for the first Test against Bangladesh, Pratham Singh was included in the team as a replacement. The 32-year-old batsman did not let this opportunity go waste and put his team in a strong position by scoring a brilliant century in his very first match of the Duleep Trophy 2024. This is Pratham’s first century in the Duleep Trophy. He played an innings of 122 runs off 189 balls and took his team’s score beyond 200.

Pratham completed his century in a rapid style. He welcomed Vidhwath Kavarappa with a six in the 49th over and then after 3 dot balls, he hit back to back fours on the last two balls to score a century. Pratham, who plays for Railways in domestic cricket, has also been a part of the IPL team. He was bought by Gujarat Lions in the 2017 IPL auction but did not get a chance to play a single match. After this, in IPL 2022, he became a part of Kolkata Knight Riders i.e. KKR. KKR had added him at a base price of Rs 20 lakh.
