The England cricket team has announced its teams for the white-ball series against Australia next month. The series will start on September 11, which includes three T20 and five ODI matches. England has selected two different teams for this series, out of which five new players have been given a chance for the first time in the T20 team. The new players included in the T20 team include Essex batsman Jordan Cox, Warwickshire’s Jacob Bethell and Dan Mousley, Leicestershire fast bowler Josh Hull and Hampshire fast bowler John Turner. All these players came to the notice of the selectors due to their good performance in domestic cricket and have been given a chance in this series.
These players did not get a place
Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Matthew Potts, Jamie Smith and Josh Hull have been included in the ODI team. All these players can prove to be important for England’s upcoming ODI matches. Some key players have not been selected during the team selection, including Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan. These three players were in England’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad, but they have not been included in the team for this series. Apart from this, Tom Hartley, who was recently part of England’s Caribbean tour, has also been dropped from the team.
This player was out due to injury
The team’s leading fast bowler Mark Wood has been left out of the team due to injury. He was injured during the first Test match against Sri Lanka, from which he has not yet recovered. This time England will be captained by Jos Buttler, who is now fully fit after a calf muscle strain. Buttler will lead the team in both formats. His leadership ability and experience will be very important for the team.
