England Cricket Team: The coach of England’s Test team is Brendon McCullum. England has performed brilliantly under his coaching. Under McCullum’s coaching, England completely changed its batting approach. England’s batsmen started scoring runs quickly. Then it was named Badgeball. England captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum won many Test matches with the Badgeball formula. Now England has made a big announcement and appointed McCullum as the coach of the ODI and T20 team as well. His tenure in limited overs will start from 2025.
McCullum’s contract will be till 2027
England on Tuesday announced that Brendon McCullum will take over as Test coach from 2022, and will now also be limited-overs coach, as part of a change in the leadership structure. The busy international schedule had made it difficult for one person to play both roles as short and long format matches sometimes took place at the same time. McCullum and the England and Wales Cricket Board believe this is now possible due to changes in the calendar. McCullum’s contract has been extended till 2027.
McCullum said this
Brendon McCullum said that I am excited by the prospect of guiding both teams and am grateful for the support I have received from the ECB and my family in taking on these additional responsibilities. Matthew Mott resigned as England’s limited overs coach on 30 July. Under his guidance, the team failed to defend the ODI and T20 world titles. The Australian was the coach for two years and under his guidance, England won the T20 World Cup in 2022.
He scored a triple century against India
Former New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum scored 1224 runs in 10 Test matches against India, which included four centuries. McCullum played an innings of 302 runs against India in a Test match in 2014. It was because of him that the New Zealand team was successful in drawing the match.
