Ayush Badoni
The Delhi Premier League (DPL) is currently being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi in which a total of 6 teams are fighting for the title. This league started on 17 August and since then many great matches have been played. Among these, there was one match in which South Delhi Superstarz captain Ayush Badoni wreaked havoc with the bat and scored 165 runs in just 55 balls. In this match, he along with Priyansh Arya made a partnership of more than 200 runs and took the team’s score beyond 300.
Under Badoni’s captaincy, South Delhi Superstars are performing brilliantly and are considered strong contenders for the title. Meanwhile, in a special conversation with India TV, he said that his goal is to win the first season of DPL. He said that he is looking at Delhi Premier League (DPL) like a mini IPL. From the very first match, his goal was to play aggressively. He has to make the team win even in captaincy. He also has to keep the strike rate high. So this was his plan and so far this plan has been successful.
The captain has his eyes set on the DPL title
Regarding the tournament, Badoni said that his goal is to make his team win the DPL trophy. Apart from that, his focus is on his performance and on the basis of that, he has to make the team win. There are many youngsters in the team, so he had to take responsibility. His plan from the very first match was to play attacking cricket and hit sixes.
On the question of batting at number 3, Badoni said that he likes to bat at number 3 or 4 because he gets to bat inside the circle. It is a lot of fun because only 2 fielders are outside. It is fun to bat in such a situation but in IPL, this role is played by senior batsmen. He is flexible there too, wherever he gets a chance to bat, he would like to make the team win.
AB de Villiers role model
On captaincy, he said that he is enjoying captaincy to the fullest. He likes to take responsibility and bat under pressure. His team is doing very well and he hopes that his team will win the trophy. He said that captaincy is a big responsibility and whenever he has got the captaincy, he has performed very well and so has his team. In this matter, he called himself lucky. Badoni further called AB de Villiers his role model. He also called DPL a big platform for the youth.
