Haryana will again make its mark in Paralympics, 22 athletes ready to wave the flag in Paris – Hindustan News Hub

Paris Paralympics 2024: Paris Paralympics 2024 is starting from 28 August, which will run till 8 September. This time a total of 84 athletes will participate in the Paralympics from India, in which a total of 22 athletes will participate from Haryana, including 6 women and 16 men. Athletes will leave for Paris in different groups from 24 August to wave the flag of India in the Paralympics. Sumit Antil will be the flag bearer of the Indian team.

Medal hope from Sumit Antil

Sumit Antil won the gold medal in javelin throw for India at the Tokyo Paralympics, when he threw the javelin up to 68.68 meters. This time too, a gold medal is expected from him. He has also won gold medals in the World Championship and Para Asian Games. Apart from Sumit, 23-year-old Navdeep, a resident of Panipat, is also expected to win a medal in javelin throw. Navdeep finished fourth in the Tokyo Olympics. He missed the medal. This time he would like to make up for the lack of Tokyo by winning a medal in Paris.

Amit Saroha will participate in Paralympics for the fourth time

Manu Khatkar of Jind is eager to perform well in shot put. He has won a bronze medal in the Asian Games. He has been working hard for the last four years to win a medal in the Paralympics. Experienced athlete Amit Saroha will represent India in the F51 category discus throw. He is going to participate in the Paralympics for the fourth time.

Giriraj, Deputy Director of Sports Department of Gurugram Division, said that this time a record 84 athletes are being sent from India to the Paris Paralympics. Out of these, 22 players are from Haryana. We hope that all the players will perform well and win medals and bring laurels to the country and Haryana.

Para Athletes- Sumit, Rinku, Navdeep, Yogesh, Dharambir, Manu, Rampal, Rohit Kumar, Pranav Surma, Amit Kumar, Arvind, Karamjyoti, Kanchan Lakhani

Para Badminton- Nitish Kumar, Tarun

Blind Judo- Kokila

Para Powerlifting- Ashok, Manish Narwal

Para Taekwondo – Aruna

Indian athletes performed brilliantly in the Tokyo Paralympics. Then India won a total of 19 medals including 5 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze medals and secured 24th position. Last time Haryana players had won a total of 6 medals. This time the medals are expected to increase. Indian fans can watch Paris Paralympics 2024 on TV on DD Sports and Sports18 channels.
