Head-Labuschagne wreaked havoc again on 19th, chased 300+ target 36 balls earlier, broke many records – Hindustan News Hub

It has not been long since the final of the ICC World Cup 2023. On 19 November 2023, in Ahmedabad, Travis Head along with Marnush Labuschagne played an innings that gave unforgettable pain to the Indian fans. Once again Travis Head has repeated the feat of Ahmedabad. Coincidentally, Head’s bat again played a stormy innings on the 19th and this time England became the victim. In fact, the first match of the ODI series was played between hosts England and Australia on 19 September at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. In this match, Australia chased the target of more than 300 runs in just 44 overs with Travis Head’s stormy century. During this victory, Travis Head and Australia set a flurry of records.

Interestingly, Travis Head did this feat while playing his first ODI match after 19 November 2023 in which he got full support from fellow batsman Marnush Labuschagne. Something similar happened a year ago in Ahmedabad when both the batsmen defeated India in its own home and put the World Cup 2023 title in Australia’s bag. Then Travis Head played a match-winning innings of 137 runs while Marnush Labuschagne scored an unbeaten 58 runs.

In the first match of the 5-match ODI series, England batted first and were all out for 315 runs in 49.4 overs. After this, Australia achieved the target of 316 runs with 36 balls to spare, thanks to Travis Head’s unbeaten 154 runs and Marnush Labuschagne’s unbeaten 77 runs. Head scored 154 runs off 129 balls with the help of 20 fours and 5 sixes. At the same time, Labuschagne scored an unbeaten 77 runs off 61 balls, which included 7 fours and 2 sixes.

Many big records were also made in this victory of Australia. Australia equaled the record of its 5th biggest successful run chase. Also, this is Australia’s 13th consecutive ODI win. Since October 2023, Australia has won 13 consecutive ODI matches.
