Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane did not enter the team

India vs Bangladesh Test Squad: The Indian team has been announced for the first match of the series between India and Bangladesh. Although there are two Tests in the series, the BCCI selection committee has selected the team for only one match. That means the team for the second match will be announced later. Meanwhile, it is now almost certain that the international career of two players who were once the pillars of the Test team India is now over. It is possible that they may soon announce their retirement.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane were not even selected for the Duleep Trophy

When BCCI selected four teams for the Duleep Trophy, the names of Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara were not included in that team. After this, various speculations started being made about these two. About 15 players are selected in the Indian team, but about 50 players were selected for the Duleep Trophy, if a player is not able to make his place in the top 50 of India, then his entry into the Indian team becomes almost impossible. However, there was a hope that Ajinkya Rahane and Pujara may be seen playing against Bangladesh.

Suddenly BCCI selection committee announced the team

Although there was a possibility that the BCCI selection committee would announce the team on Monday, but as soon as the first match of the Duleep Trophy ended, the team was announced on Sunday evening itself. Where Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara play in the middle order, players like Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz Khan and KL Rahul have been selected. That means now the return of Pujara and Rahane in Team India has become almost impossible.

Pujara and Rahane are also out of ODIs and T20s

The special thing about Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane is that both these players do not play T20 and ODI for India. They have been playing only Test matches, but if they do not get a place in Tests then their international career can be considered almost over. It is difficult to say right now whether the selection committee chief Ajit Agarkar has talked to these two players or not, but it is possible that soon they may also announce their retirement. It remains to be seen what Rahane and Pujara decide about their careers.
