IND vs ENG: India’s star batsman Virat Kohli already has a lot of records to his name and the run machine is on the verge of adding another one to his impressive list of achievements. Virat recently broke Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most ODI centuries during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The 35-year-old scored his 50th ODI century against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in November last year, surpassing Tendulkar’s record. Meanwhile, Virat is close to another record.

Virat can create a new record of fours

Virat’s next task is a five-match Test series against England and he is looking in great form just before this series. The opening Test of the five-Test series between India and England will start from January 25 in Hyderabad. Virat Kohli is very close to a record in this series. Actually, Virat Kohli has 991 fours in his name in Test cricket. If Virat hits 9 more fours in this series, his name will reach 1000 fours in this format. Sachin Tendulkar has hit the most fours in this format. He has 2058 fours registered in his name.

Virat Kohli is also close to this record

Virat, who is the fourth highest run-scorer for India in Tests, has so far scored 8848 runs in 113 Tests and needs 152 runs to reach 9000 runs in this format. Even if he manages to score 152 or more runs, he will remain fourth in the list of highest run scoring Indian batsmen, but he will complete 9000 runs in his name. Virat has scored a total of 29 half-centuries and 30 centuries in Test cricket.

Talking about the batsmen who have scored the most runs in Test cricket, Tendulkar is at the top in this list by scoring 15921 runs in 200 Test matches at an average of 53.78. India’s great batsman Rahul Dravid, who is currently the head coach of the Indian cricket team, is ranked second in this list. Dravid has 13265 runs in 163 test matches at an average of 52.63. Great batsman Sunil Gavaskar is at third place in this list after scoring 10122 runs in 125 Test matches at an average of 51.12.
