IND vs SA: The ongoing ODI series between India and South Africa is going to end today (21st December) with the decisive match to be played at Boland Park, Paarl. The series is currently tied at 1-1. The first match of the series was won by Team India, while the second match was won by South Africa. Team India is playing with a young team in this series. Which is being captained by KL Rahul. Young players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are not part of Team India in this series.

Virat Kohli’s record against South Africa

Virat Kohli had decided to take rest in this series. Due to which Virat missed breaking a big record of Sachin Tendulkar in ODI. In fact, during his illustrious career, Sachin Tendulkar has scored five centuries in ODI matches against South Africa. He has 2001 runs in his name in 57 matches with five centuries and eight half-centuries. Kohli, on the other hand, has scored 1504 runs in 29 innings at an impressive average of 65.39 with five centuries and eight fifties.

Kohli missed the big record

Kohli and Sachin both have the joint highest number of centuries for India against South Africa in ODI matches. If Virat Kohli had played the current series against South Africa, he would have had a great chance to surpass Tendulkar and become the player with the most centuries for India in the 50-over format against South Africa. Overall, AB de Villiers and Quinton de Kock have scored the most centuries in India vs South Africa ODI matches. Both have 6-6 centuries in their names. If Kohli had played the series, even by scoring a century he would have been at par with these two.

Will be seen in test series

The former India captain will return to action after more than a month in the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa starting on December 26. After scoring the most runs in the ODI World Cup last month, Kohli will now aim to make his mark in Test cricket, the longest format of the game. Fans also want to see Kohli in action once again.
