India Women vs South Africa Women: Even before the start of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, the Indian team has strengthened its preparations and has won both its warm-up matches. Asha Shobhana changed the course of the match by taking two wickets
Laura Wolvaardt and Tajmeen Britts gave an excellent start to the South African team chasing the target of 145 runs. These two players had laid a strong foundation to help Africa win. But Tajmeen Britts was out after scoring 22 runs and Laura after scoring 29 runs. Asha Shobhana turned the match in favor of India by taking two wickets. In the end Annerie Dercksen scored 21 runs and Chloe Tryon scored 24 runs. But these players could not lead Africa to victory. The entire African team could score only 116 runs in 20 overs. For India, Deepti Sharma, Shreyanka Patil, Harmanpreet Kaur, Shefali Verma took one wicket each.
Indian women’s team made it to the final once
The Indian women’s team had defeated the West Indies team by 20 runs in the first warm-up match. The Indian team has not won the Women’s T20 World Cup trophy till date. The team had made it to the finals of 2020, when it had to face defeat by Australia.
