Ahead of the IPL mega auction, it was decided that the 10 franchises will be allowed to retain a maximum of 6 players from their previous team which will also include a Right to Match (RTM) card from the auction. After this, speculations have started as to which players the teams can retain. Meanwhile, big information has come out from Delhi Capitals. Actually, Delhi Capitals has indicated which players they are going to retain. Delhi owner Parth Jindal has made it clear that captain Rishabh Pant will be retained for the upcoming season.

Speaking to reporters at an event in Hisar, Haryana, Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal confirmed the name of captain and star wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant, and also revealed some other names that will be discussed. Parth Jindal said that he will definitely retain Pant. There are some very good players in their team. The rules have just come, so a decision will be taken after discussion with GMR and team cricket director Sourav Ganguly. He said that Pant will be retained. The team also has Axar Patel, who is an excellent player, many good players like Tristan Stubbs, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Kuldeep Yadav, Abhishek Porel, Mukesh Kumar and Khalil Ahmed are in the team. Jindal further said that we will see what happens in the auction. According to the rules, a team can retain 6 players. Those will be discussed first.

DC waits for its first title

As per IPL rules, a franchise can retain a maximum of 5 capped players (Indian and foreign) and a maximum of two uncapped players. This can be through retention or right to match (RTM) option. Any player who has not played international cricket for the last 5 years or does not have a central contract for the same period will be categorized as an uncapped player.
