The SA20 2025 auction has ended in Cape Town, South Africa, where all the teams together have bought a total of 13 players. Joburg Super Kings franchise has bought a total of three players in the auction. These include Vihaan Lubbe and Evan Jones, Doug Bracewell. In T20 cricket, he proves to be very dangerous at the beginning of the innings and is adept at changing the course of the match in just a few balls. So far, he has taken a total of 34 wickets in 20 IPL matches. In IPL 2024, Matisha Pathirana took 13 wickets after playing only 6 matches. Now he will be seen playing in the SA20 league for the first time.

Joburg Super Kings team has not yet won the SA20 team title. Both seasons the team made it to the playoffs. But every time the title dream was shattered. In the first season, Sunrisers had to face defeat by 14 runs against the Eastern Cape team in the semi-finals. After this, in the second season, Joburg Super Kings team had to face defeat in Qualifier-2 against Durban Super Giants.
