England’s ace batsman Joe Root is continuously climbing the stairs of success in Test cricket. After playing an innings of 262 runs against Pakistan in the first Test in Multan, Joe Root has made a huge gain in the latest ICC Test rankings. Joe Root has reached the best rating point of his Test career by maintaining his dominance in the Test rankings for batsmen. In the latest ICC Test rankings, Joe Root remains at the first position while Kane Williamson is at second place with 829 ratings. Harry Brook has taken the third position with a huge jump of 11 places. Brook had created a new record by scoring a triple century in the first test against Pakistan. He played an innings of 317 runs and along with Joe Root made a record partnership of 454 runs for the fourth wicket. Both the batsmen have benefited from this partnership in the ICC rankings.

Joe Root’s reign continues

He now has a rating of 932 in the latest ICC Test rankings. Earlier, Root’s career best rating was 923. Root has now reached 17th position in terms of achieving the best rating in the history of Test cricket. This means that in the history of Test cricket, only 16 players have been able to achieve more than Joe Root’s rating in the ICC rankings. If Joe Root’s bat continues like this, he can soon achieve a big position in the ICC rankings.

The record of achieving the highest rating in the ICC rankings is held in the name of Australia’s great batsman Don Bradman. Don Bradman has the record of highest rating points of 961. Don Bradman had achieved this rating point in the year 1948. In the current era, only Steve Smith had come close to this rating point. In the year 2017, his rating point was 947. Now Joe Root has come very close to breaking Bradman’s great record. If Root is successful in achieving 30 ratings, he will create a new record in the history of Test cricket with the highest rating of 962.

Root close to creating history

Joe Root still has to play 2 test matches against Pakistan. If his bat continues like this then Bradman’s record can be broken. If Root is not able to create history in this series, then he will have a big chance to achieve this historic milestone in the 3-match Test series on the New Zealand tour. England’s New Zealand tour will start from November 28. The first Test will be played in Christchurch, the second in Wellington and the third match of the series in Hamilton.
