Joe Root India vs England : At present, the excitement is at its peak in the Test series being played between India and England. While England took the lead in the series by winning the first Test match, they also surprised everyone. But now the Indian team seems to be ahead in the second test. Meanwhile, the biggest hurdle in Team India’s victory was Joe Root, whom Ashwin has overcome. Joe Root was expected to save the match by standing at the crease, but he was not successful in doing so. But what definitely happened is that he has definitely made a new record in India.
Joe Root completed 1000 runs in test in India
It is not an easy task for any foreign batsman to come to India and score runs. Especially when the pitch is helpful for spinners. But Joe Root’s bat may not have spoken much in the way for which he is known and recognized, but he has definitely completed 1000 Test runs in India by playing short innings. Joe Root has now become the fifth foreign batsman to have scored more than a thousand runs in India. Before this, Clive Lloyd of West Indies, Alastair Cook of England, Gordon Greenidge of West Indies and Matthew Hayden have already done this work.
Foreign players who have scored the most test runs in India
The highest run-scorer in India is Clive Lloyd, who has scored 1359 runs at an average of 75.50. After this comes Alastair Cook, who has scored 1235 runs at an average of 51.45. Gordon Greenidge of West Indies has scored 1042 runs at an average of 45.3. Australia’s Matthew Hayden has scored 1027 runs in India at an average of 51.35. If we talk about Joe Root, he has scored 1003 runs at an average of 45.59. However, after this he got out and returned back to the pavilion.
Joe Root’s bat is upset in the series
Talking about Joe Root’s batting in this series, in the first test i.e. in Hyderabad, where he scored 29 runs in the first innings, he was out after scoring 2 runs in the second innings. In the second match, he played a short inning of 5 runs in the first innings and 16 runs in the second. That means he is far from scoring a century with his bat, he has not even scored a half-century. However, there are still three Tests left after this, it remains to be seen whether Joe Root’s bat can do something amazing in them or he proves to be a flop there too.
