ICC Test Rankings Update: Former England captain Joe Root, who is on India tour, is currently performing well. Although he may not have scored much runs with his bat in the first three matches of the 5-match series, he proved himself again by scoring a brilliant century in the first innings of the fourth match. Not only this, he has also been troubling the Indian batsmen with his bowling. This is the reason that this time in the ranking of Test all-rounders released by the ICC, he has gone ahead of India’s Axar Patel and his own captain Ben Stokes. Ravindra Jadeja still holds the number one position.
ICC released the ranking of top test all-rounders
In the new list of Test all-rounders released by ICC, India’s star player Ravindra Jadeja remains at number one. His rating currently remains at 449. In between, he had gone up to a rating of 469 after the Rajkot Test, but in the meantime it has come down. India also occupies the second position. Ravichandran Ashwin is at second place with a rating of 323. There is a huge difference between the first and second players. That means there is no threat to Jadeja’s chair at present.
Joe Root reached number four
Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh is at third place in this list with a rating of 320. After this, the number four position has now been occupied by Joe Root. Due to his excellent performance with bat and ball in the last match, he has got a jump of 3 places. Joe Root’s rating has now reached 282. Akshar Patel has been a direct loss due to Root going ahead. Axar Patel has now dropped one place to No. 5 with a rating of 275.
Ben Stokes out of top 5
Former West Indies captain Jason Holder is at number 6 with a rating of 270. England captain Ben Stokes is not only not bowling due to his injury, but he is also not able to show any magic in batting, due to which he has suffered a loss this time and he has dropped 2 places. Ben Stokes has reached number 7 with a rating of 261. That means now he is out of the top 5. South Africa’s Marco Jansen is at 8th with a rating of 235 and Pat Cummins is at 9th with a rating of 234. West Indies’ Kyle Mayers has a rating of 230 and is at tenth place in this list.
