IND vs SA 3rd ODI KL Rahul Record : The third match of the ODI series being played between India and South Africa is being played in Paarl today. The command of the team has been handed over to KL Rahul. Meanwhile, the Indian team came to bat first after losing the toss. Sai Sudarshan, who scored consecutive half-centuries in the first two matches along with Rajat Patidar, who made his debut for Team India, came on the field, but both were not able to play big innings. Meanwhile, captain KL Rahul, who came to bat at number four, has made a new record. The record is also no small, he has equaled that of India’s greatest captain MS Dhoni.

KL Rahul completed his 1000 runs in ODI this year

In fact, if we talk about India’s wicketkeeper batsmen, it has happened only twice in the history of ODI cricket, when a keeper batsman has scored more than a thousand runs in a calendar year. This record was in the name of MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni had done this feat in the year 2008 and then in 2009. This had not happened before or after this, but now KL Rahul has become the second keeper batsman of India to do so. There was no big innings from KL Rahul’s bat today. He scored 21 runs on 35 balls, which included two fours, but with this inning of 21 runs, his total runs have crossed 1000 this year. Before this match, KL Rahul had scored 987 runs this year.

After almost 14 years, KL Rahul equaled MS Dhoni

If we look at it in terms of years, KL Rahul has now achieved this feat after about 14 years. Although Dhoni may have touched the figure of 1000 runs only twice, he has come close to it many times before. He also scored 929 runs in the year 2007 and 895 runs in the year 2005, which means he missed scoring 1000 runs. In the year 2002, Rahul Dravid also scored 760 runs. Now today the Indian team is playing its last ODI match of this year. This means that KL Rahul’s runs will not increase. But Team India will play the first match of the Test series against South Africa from 26th December. KL Rahul is going to be seen playing in this also. For the time being, Rahul’s focus will be on winning the last and decisive match and capturing the series, because at present the series is tied one to one, whoever wins this match, the series will be in his name.
