Lausanne Diamond League 2024: India’s star athlete Neeraj Chopra continued his excellent performance of Paris Olympics and finished second in Lausanne Diamond League 2024. Neeraj threw his last throw of 89.49 meters which was his season best performance. Peters Anderson of Grenada finished first with a throw of more than 90 meters.
In Lausanne, Neeraj did not seem to be in rhythm from the first throw. Neeraj’s first throw was very ordinary. He threw 82.10 meters in the first attempt and then threw 83.21 in the second throw. Whereas, the third throw was 83.13 meters. Neeraj was running in third place till the first two throws, but then the Ukrainian athlete pushed the Indian athlete to fourth place with a throw of 83.38 meters and himself reached third place. However, after this Neeraj made a brilliant comeback in the last throw and directly secured second place.

In this entire event, this star athlete of India was able to cross the distance of 85 meters only once. His fourth throw was of 82.34 meters. After this, Neeraj made tremendous improvement and crossed the distance of 85 meters and again secured the third position. In the last attempt, Neeraj threw the javelin with all his might at a distance of 89.49 meters and finished in second place. Let us tell you, Neeraj had achieved the great feat of finishing on the podium in two consecutive Olympics by winning the silver medal in Paris Olympics just 2 weeks ago. In Paris, Neeraj won the silver medal with a throw of 89.45 meters while Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal by breaking the Olympic record.
