What did Mohammed Shami say?
Shami talked about his World Cup journey during the CEAT Cricket Awards held last month, the video of which was made public by Star Sports on Sunday. In a conversation with anchor Mayanti Langer, Shami spoke in detail about his World Cup debut, saying that he was not the first choice player in all three ODI World Cups (2015, 2019 and 2023). However, after being selected, he performed strongly and did not let the opportunity slip away.
Shami was ready for the opportunity
When Shami was asked that he is able to perform well even after being out of the field, he said that I think I have become accustomed to it. My start in 2015, 2019 and 2023 was the same. When I was given a chance, thank God my performance never thought of dropping me again. You can demand hard work, but I am always ready for the opportunity. When you are ready, only then can you prove yourself. Otherwise, I can only run to the field to give water! It is better to capitalize on the opportunity when you get it.
