Mohammed Shami Indian Cricket Team: Star Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami last played for the Indian team in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 and since then he has been out due to injury, for which he underwent surgery earlier this year. Shami wants to ensure 100 percent fitness after rehabilitation after ankle surgery and if needed, he will play domestic cricket without setting any time limit for his return to international cricket.
I am working hard to make a comeback: Shami
Speaking at the Bengal Cricket Association’s annual awards ceremony, Mohammed Shami said that I am trying to return as soon as possible because I know it has been a long time since I was out of the team. I want to make sure that there is no problem when I come back. It is believed that Shami is likely to return to cricket for the Bengal team in domestic cricket. He may play in a Test match against New Zealand. According to a PTI report, Shami will play one or two of Bengal’s opening Ranji matches against UP (October 11) and Bihar (October 18).
Shami is ready to play domestic cricket as well
Mohammad Shami said that the stronger I come back, the better it will be for me. I don’t want to rush and risk getting injured again, whether it is against Bangladesh, New Zealand or Australia series. If I need to play domestic cricket to test my fitness, I will play. The most important thing is that I am fully prepared for whatever comes next, regardless of the opposition or format.
Mohammed Shami has played cricket in all three formats for the Indian team. He has taken 229 wickets in 64 Test matches, 195 wickets in 101 ODIs and 24 wickets in 23 T20 International matches for Team India.
