The second match of the Test series being played between India and New Zealand ended today i.e. on 26 October. New Zealand won the second consecutive match by defeating Team India within 3 days. In this Test match played in Pune, New Zealand defeated India by 113 runs and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match Test series. As soon as New Zealand won this series, it created a new record.
In fact, batting first in the Pune Test, New Zealand had scored 259 runs in the first innings. In response, Team India was reduced to just 156 runs. Mitchell Santner had an important contribution in getting India all out, who dismissed 7 batsmen in the first innings. After this, New Zealand scored 255 runs in the second innings and gave India a difficult target of 359 runs to win. While chasing this target, the Indian team got bundled out for just 245 runs in the second innings and thus New Zealand created a new history on Indian soil.
New Zealand has succeeded in capturing the Test series in India for the first time. New Zealand has been playing Test series in India since 1955 but since then it had not been successful in winning even a single series, but this time they achieved a big feat by ending the drought of 68 years and 12 series. New Zealand has now become the sixth team to win a Test series in India. Earlier, England, West Indies, Australia, Pakistan and South Africa had done a great job of winning the Test series on Indian soil.
