Ollie Pope and Akeel Hossain will play for Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers in the upcoming season of the Big Bash League.

Meanwhile, England Test team vice-captain Ollie Pope, who is also captaining the team in the absence of Ben Stokes in the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka, has been included in the Adelaide Strikers team for the upcoming season. Apart from Pope, West Indies team’s left-arm spin bowler Akil Hussain has become a part of the Sydney Sixers team before the player draft process.
Ollie Pope will get a chance to prove himself in the limited overs format
26-year-old Ollie Pope has played only 60 T20 matches in his career so far, in which he has scored 1295 runs and his strike rate has been 132.82. While Ollie Pope’s batting average in T20 is 28.77, he has also played 4 half-century innings. With the inclusion of Pope, the batting order of the Adelaide Strikers team will become stronger than ever. Explosive players like D’Arcy Short, Matt Short and Chris Lynn are already present in their team, in which Pope’s name has also been included now.
Akeel Hussain will replace Steve O’Keefe
West Indies team’s spin bowler Akil Hussain has become a part of the Sydney Sixers team in the upcoming season of the Big Bash League, who has been included in place of Steve O’Keefe, who retired from all formats of cricket after last season. However, Akil will be able to play only the first 7 matches for the Sydney Sixers team in the 14th season of BBL because after that he has to play for MI Emirates in the International League T20. Akil Hussain played for the Melbourne Renegades team in the 2022-23 season in which he took a total of 13 wickets in 9 matches.
