Cricketer Mohammed Siraj has received a big gift from the Telangana government. Mohammad Siraj has taken charge as Deputy Superintendent of Police i.e. DSP after reporting to Telangana DGP on Friday. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had announced that Siraj will be given a Group-I government post. After this announcement, Mohammad Siraj has now taken over the post of DSP.
Siraj was part of the team that won the T20 World Cup 2024 title in June this year. The Indian fast bowler is not the only athlete to receive this honour. In July, the Telangana government had announced to give Group-1 job to two-time world champion boxer Nikhat Zareen for her excellent performance in sports.
Siraj was recently seen playing in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, where he took 4 wickets. In this series, India had a clean sweep of the visiting team Bangladesh 2-0. Siraj has been rested in the T20I series being played between India and Bangladesh. In their place, young bowlers like Arshdeep Singh and Mayank Yadav are taking charge of the team’s bowling.

Mohammad Siraj has been an integral part of Team India for a long time. In the last few years, he has impressed not only in India but also on foreign soil with his balls. Siraj, who made his debut for Team India in November 2017, has played 16 T20Is and 44 ODI matches. He has taken 14 wickets in T20I and 71 wickets in ODI. He made his Test debut in Melbourne in December 2022 and played an important role in India winning the series. He has 78 wickets in his name in 29 test matches.
Mohammad Siraj is now busy preparing for the 3-match Test series against New Zealand. After this, Team India will tour Australia in November for the Border-Gavaskar series. Team India will have a lot of expectations from Mohammad Siraj on this tour. The Indian team will play a 5-match test series on this tour.
