India’s para pistol shooter Manish Narwal has won the silver medal. Manish finished first in the men’s 10 meter air pistol SH1 final event. Earlier, Manish had won the gold medal in Tokyo Paralympics. In this way, now he has joined the club of select Indian para athletes who have won medals in 2 consecutive Paralympics. Manish’s gold medal in 2020 Tokyo Paralympics came in the Mixed P4 50 meter pistol SH1 event.
22-year-old Manish Narwal was leading for a long time, but due to continuous poor scores, he fell behind and experienced South Korean shooter Jo Jongdu took the lead. Narwal finished second with 234.9 points while Jongdu won the gold medal with 237.4 points.
India has won 4 medals on the second day of Paris Paralympics. Avni Lekhara won the gold medal in the women’s 10 meter air rifle (SH1) event while Mona Agarwal won the bronze medal. At the same time, Preeti Pal won the bronze medal by finishing third in the 100 meter race. Talking about the points table, India has reached the 9th position with 4 medals (1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze).
