Pakistan Cricket Board Central Contracts: Pakistan Cricket Board has announced its central contract for the 2024-25 international season. In this, 25 male cricketers have been given central contracts for 12 months. This contract will come into effect from July 1, 2024 and the contracts have been introduced under what was agreed between the players and the players last year. PCB has included five new players in the central contract for the first time.
Babar Azam is included in Category-A
Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Irfan Khan and Usman Khan have been given central contracts by the Pakistan Cricket Board for the first time. All these five players have been kept in D category. PCB has kept only two players in Category-A. These include Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Whereas three players have been included in B category. These include Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shan Masood. Recently, Pakistan won the Test series against England 2-1 under the captaincy of Masood. Pakistan had won the Test series on home soil after the year 2021.
3 star players have not got a chance
Star players like Hasan Ali, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Fakhar Zaman have not been included in the PCB’s central contract. These players were not able to perform well for some time. Perhaps for this reason he has been released from the contract. On the other hand, last year Shaheen Afridi was included in Category-A. This time he has been kept in B category. Shadab Khan has also been changed from B to C category since last time.
