SA20 Auction: The SA20 league is organized by Cricket South Africa. It has been two seasons and both times the title has been won by Sunrisers Eastern Cape under the captaincy of Aiden Markram. The auction for the SA20 2025 season will take place on Tuesday 1 October in Cape Town, South Africa. Where all the teams would like to include good players in their squad. Around 200 players have been shortlisted for the auction, out of which 115 are South African players. The special thing is that all the teams together can buy only 13 players.
A total of 6 teams will participate in SA20 2025
6 teams will be seen playing in the SA20 2025 league. These include Durban Super Giants, Joburg Super Kings, MI Cape Town, Pretoria Capitals, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Paarl Royals. The tournament will be played from January 9 to February 8 next year. At the same time, there will be Big Bash League in Australia and ILT20 League in UAE. Shamar Joseph, Naseem Shah, Josh Little, New Zealand opener Martin Guptill, Kamendu Mendis, Afghan wrist spinner Qais Ahmed have been shortlisted for the auction. Joburg Super Kings have released Reeza Hendricks. He is known for his excellent batting. All the teams will have their eyes on him in the auction.
Dinesh Karthik selected by Paul Royals team
All teams can have 19 players in their squad, of which there must be at least 10 South African players. The Pearl Royals team has selected former Indian team wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik through wildcard. Karthik had recently taken retirement from international cricket. He will be the first Indian cricket player to be seen playing in the SA20 league.
