The second match of the 2-match Test series between India and Bangladesh will be played at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur from September 27. Just before this match, Bangladesh team’s star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan admitted in a statement that defeating India in Test cricket is a very difficult task and even more difficult at home. Shakib also gave an update on his retirement before the Kanpur Test in which he said that he wants to play his last match in Mirpur in the Test series between Bangladesh and South Africa. Apart from this, Shakib also revealed the secret of Bangladesh’s historic Test series win against Pakistan.
Pakistan team was less experienced than us
Regarding Bangladesh team’s 2-0 victory in the 2-match Test series against Pakistan, Shakib Al Hasan said that the Pakistani team was a little less experienced in this series compared to our team. We were more experienced than them in this Test series and I think experience plays a very important role in this format of cricket. Regarding the Test series against India, he said that the Test tour of India is the most difficult and considering their star players, the pitches do not make much difference. If you look at other countries, they sometimes lose a match or two. But in India you hardly see them losing test matches. We won against them in the ODI series in Bangladesh. We were very close to winning the match against them in the Test match in Bangladesh. In Test cricket, we have not got the success we are trying for. I think we played well in bits and pieces in Chennai. But ending the match early is not a good thing for us.
Shakib could not do anything special with both bat and ball in Chennai Test.
In the first match of this Test series played on the Chennai ground, Shakib Al Hasan was not able to show any special feat with both bat and ball, due to which questions were raised about his place in the playing 11. While Shakib Al Hasan could not take any wicket in bowling, while in batting he was able to score only 32 runs in the first innings and only 25 runs in the second innings.
