Mayank could not play many matches in IPL 2024 due to being unfit, but in all the matches he played, he proved to be a match-winning bowler for his team.
BCCI had its eyes on Mayank’s fitness
Mayank Yadav was a part of the Lucknow Super Giants team in IPL 2024, in which he took 7 wickets while playing four matches, in which his best performance in a match was three wickets for 14 runs. The biggest discussion was seen about the speed of Mayank’s balls, in which he is capable of bowling at a speed of 145 or more consistently. After being unfit during IPL 2024, Mayank was in the National Cricket Academy for a long time where he was working on his fitness. While Mayank Yadav has played only one match in first class cricket so far, he has played 17 matches in List A and 14 matches in T20. Mayank has 2 wickets in his name in first class cricket, 34 wickets in List-A and 19 wickets in T20.
Expectations of Mayank going on Australia tour also increased
The Indian team has to tour Australia to play a 5-match Test series later this year, in which Mayank Yadav is also expected to be selected. In such a situation, while his fitness will be tested during this T20 series against Bangladesh, after this he can also be included in Team India’s Test team. The Indian team also has to play a three-match Test series against New Zealand at home from October 16.
