England And Pakistan Cricket Team

England Test Squad: The England cricket team recently won the Test series against Sri Lanka 2-1. Now in October, England has to play a three-Test series against the Pakistani team. For this, the English team has been announced. Regular captain Ben Stokes has returned. He did not play against Sri Lanka due to injury. Ollie Pope captained in his place. Apart from Stokes, Rehan and Jack Leach have also returned to the Test team. 17 players have got a chance in the team.

Jack Leach returns to the Test squad

Spinner Jack Leach is returning to the Test team for the first time since the opening Test in India in January 2024. He will be eager to perform strongly. On the other hand, Rehan Ahmed made his Test debut against the Pakistani team in Karachi in 2022. Since then he has taken 18 wickets in four Test matches. Shoaib Bashir is present as the third spinner. Tom Hartley, who took 7 wickets in the Hyderabad Test against India, has not got a chance.

Brydon Carsey has also got a chance after returning from the ban. Jos Hull and Chris Woakes are also included in the team. Mark Wood is out due to Kohli’s injury. On the other hand, James Anderson has also retired and in such a situation Chris Woakes has handled the responsibility of the fast bowling attack very well. He has taken a total of 24 wickets against West Indies and Sri Lanka.

These batsmen will have important responsibility

The responsibility of scoring runs for England in Pakistan will be on Ben Stokes, Harry Brook, Jack Crowley, Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Jamie Smith. Joe Root had performed brilliantly against Sri Lanka and played an important role in helping England win the series. He scored a total of 375 runs and won the Player of the Series award.
