The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the squad for the England women’s team’s tour of South Africa starting from November 24. England women’s team has to play series in all three formats on this tour, in which first they have to play three T20 matches, followed by three ODIs and one Test match series. The England team did not have any special performance in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup that ended in UAE last month, due to which major changes have been seen in the T20 team and star player Alice Kepsey has not been selected in the squad.
Ellis could not do in T20 World
Alice Kepsy was not able to perform well with the bat in the Women’s T20 World Cup, in which she managed to score only 19 runs in three matches. Kepsi is currently playing for the Melbourne Renegades team in the Women’s Big Bash League, in which she managed to score only 27 runs in 5 matches. ECB has included Paige Scholfield, who made her debut in international cricket in the month of September, in the T20 team for the first time. At the same time, fast bowler Lauren Filler, who was out of the T20 World Cup team, has also been seen back in the team, who has been included in the squad for all three formats.
The first women’s test will be held in South Africa after 2002.
The last women’s Test match was played in South Africa in the year 2002, in which Heather Knight will handle the responsibility of captaincy in all three formats of the England team. Many players of the England team are currently busy playing in the ongoing franchise T20 league Big Bash in Australia, in which they will leave for South Africa from there on 16th November. While there will be a three-match T20 series between the two teams from November 24, a three-match ODI series will be played from December 4, while a one-match Test series will be played between the two teams from December 15 to 18.
