IPL 2024: The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 is currently in full swing in the West Indies. Cricketers from not only West Indies but from all over the world are showing their flair in this league. This league started on 29 August in which 18 matches have been played so far. On September 17, a thrilling match was played between Barbados Royals and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at Kensington Oval in which a heavy bowler created history. This bowler is none other than the famous West Indies bowler Rahkeem Cornwall, who has done a feat which was never seen before in the history of CPL before today. 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 140 kg, Rahkeem Cornwall created a new record in CPL.

New history made in CPL

Actually, Barbados Royals bowler Rahkeem Cornwall bowled brilliantly against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots and dealt with half the team single-handedly. He took 5 wickets for just 16 runs in 4 overs and created a new history in CPL. This is Rahkeem’s best bowling performance in T20 cricket.

Rahkeem has become the 10th bowler in the world and only the fourth bowler from West Indies to take 5 wickets in the history of the Caribbean Premier League. Not only this, this is the best performance of any West Indies bowler in the history of CPL. Thanks to Rahkeem’s brilliant bowling, Barbados Royals won against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and became the first team to qualify for the playoffs of CPL 2024.

Talking about the match, while batting first, the team of St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots could not even play the full 20 overs. The team collapsed for 110 runs in 19.1 overs. After this, Barbados Royals achieved the target of 111 runs in just 11.2 overs on the basis of Quinton de Kock’s brilliant half-century. Quinton played an unbeaten innings of 59 runs with the help of 3 fours and 4 sixes in 38 balls.
