Varun Chakravarthy On Ravichandran Aswin: The Indian team defeated Bangladesh in spectacular fashion by 7 wickets in the first T20 match. After winning the toss, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav asked the opposing team to bat first. After this, Bangladesh’s batsmen could not perform well and the entire team was reduced to 127 runs. Then Team India did not face any difficulty in chasing the target. IPL superstar spinner Varun Chakraborty got a chance in the Indian team after three years. After this he also entered the playing eleven and bowled excellently. Varun took 3 wickets for 31 runs in his four overs and played an important role in the victory.
Bangladesh batsmen troubled
Varun Chakraborty said after the match that after three years it was definitely emotional for me. It feels good to be back in the team. It feels like rebirth. I just want to stay connected to the process. I am doing the same in IPL also. Chakraborty troubled the Bangladesh batsmen a lot who failed to understand his balls. The 33-year-old spinner, who is playing his seventh T20 match, said that he just wants to enjoy the moment and is not thinking too far ahead.
Good preparation from TNPL
Chakraborty said that I do not want to go beyond what is in front and I just want to live in the present so I do not want to think too much. After IPL I played a few tournaments and one of them was TNPL. It is a very good tournament and of high level. Varun said that working with India off-spinner Ashwin during the TNPL was really good for him and it boosted his morale. He said that this is a place (TNPL) where I work a lot, with Ash (Ashwin) brother also, we won the championship also. This gave me confidence. This was good preparation for me for this series.
Played 7 T20I matches for India
Varun Chakraborty made his debut for the Indian team in the year 2021. After this he played matches for Team India in the T20 World Cup 2021, but then after poor performance he was dropped from the Indian team. Now he has returned after doing well in IPL. So far, he has taken 5 wickets in 7 T20 International matches for Team India.
