Ishan Kishan Duleep Trophy: Duleep Trophy 2024 is starting from 5th September. This time star players like Mayank Agarwal, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer will also be seen playing in the Duleep Trophy. Before the series against Bangladesh, these players would like to perform well and get into Team India. On the other hand, Ishan Kishan has suffered a major setback even before the Duleep Trophy starts. He has been ruled out of the first round of the Duleep Trophy due to injury.
Ishan Kishan got injured during Buchi Babu tournament
BCCI’s press release stated that wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of the first round of the Duleep Trophy due to a back injury sustained during the ongoing All India Buchi Babu Tournament. The BCCI medical team is closely monitoring his condition and working towards ensuring a speedy recovery. He was included in India-D for the Duleep Trophy, which is captained by Shreyas Iyer.
Sanju Samson got entry in Duleep Trophy
Ishan played his last international match for Team India in the year 2023. Since then he has been out of the team. He withdrew from the South Africa tour. After this he was shown the way out of the contract. Now Sanju Samson has got a chance in the India-D team in place of Ishan for the Duleep Trophy. KS Bharat is already present in the India-D team as a wicketkeeper. In such a situation, there is a strong possibility that he will get a place in the playing eleven. Sanju has been a part of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup 2024 title.
Suryakumar Yadav is also out from the first round
Suryakumar Yadav was also ruled out of the opening round due to a hand injury while playing for Mumbai in the Buchi Babu tournament. He has injured his thumb. He will not be available for the first round selection. On the other hand, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been approved to play in the Duleep Trophy and will be available for selection.

Shreyas Iyer (captain), Atharva Tayde, Yash Dubey, Devdutt Padikkal, Ricky Bhui, Saransh Jain, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Aditya Thackeray, Harshit Rana, Tushar Deshpande, Akash Sengupta, KS Bharat, Saurabh Kumar and Sanju Samson.
