Paris Paralympics 2024 Day 1: After the opening ceremony of Paris Paralympics 2024 on August 28, many para athletes of India will be seen in action on the first day. India won a total of 6 medals in the recently concluded Olympics 2024, while all Indian fans are hopeful of winning more medals in the Paralympics. Talking about the action of the first day, Sarita and Sheetal Devi will play in the women’s compound open category. At the same time, Krishna Nagar will participate in the SH6 category in badminton. Apart from this, Harvinder Singh will be seen in action in the men’s recurve ranking round. This time the largest ever contingent of para athletes has gone to the Paralympics from India.
Record 19 medals were won in Tokyo
In the last Paralympic Games held in Tokyo, India won a record total of 19 medals including five gold medals, and now more than this number is expected to be won in Paris. In the Para Taekwondo event, India’s Tanwar will face Turkey’s Nursihan Ekinci in the women’s K44-47 kg round of 16.
