The result of the 3-match Test series being played between India and New Zealand has come. After winning 8 wickets in the Bengaluru Test, New Zealand won the Pune Test and achieved the great feat of winning the Test series on Indian soil for the first time. On the other hand, the Indian team had to face defeat in a Test series at home in 12 years. Now the host team India is in danger of a clean sweep, to avoid which it will have to win or draw the third test under any circumstances.
The third Test will start from November 1 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, the pitch of which is being discussed a lot on social media. In fact, many media reports claimed that the Indian team management has demanded turning pitch from Mumbai Cricket Association i.e. MCA. Now a big statement has come from Team India’s assistant coach Abhishek Nair on this. Nair denied that spin-friendly pitches were being prepared. Abhishek Nair said that he does not get the pitch prepared as per his requirement in Test matches. Nair said that he wished he could prepare the pitches as per his wish but he does not do so. Curators do that. The team plays whatever pitch is given.
Will Rohit-Virat make a comeback?
Indian captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli remained silent in the first two Test matches of New Zealand. Rohit could score only 62 runs in 4 innings while Virat could score only 88 runs in the same innings. Only 1-1 half-century came from the bat of both the batsmen. Despite this poor performance, Abhishek Nair was seen standing in support of Rohit and Virat. He said that when a big player goes through a difficult phase, sometimes it is about giving them time and trusting that they will bounce back. They will work hard. Everyone wants to perform well. Be it Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma or a young player like Shubman Gill. There are efforts.
Difficult challenge for the team
Team India now faces the challenge of saving honor in the series. After playing the third Test match against New Zealand, the Indian team will leave for Australia tour where 5 Test matches will be played under the Border-Gavaskar series. This series will start in Perth from 22nd November. This series will be very important for both the teams in terms of the final of the World Test Championship.
