Many great performances have been seen so far in the first season of Delhi Premier League (DPL), in which along with the batsmen, many young fast bowlers are also impressing everyone with their bowling. This includes the names of 23-year-old Mani Grewal and Rajneesh Dadar, who are part of the Central Delhi Kings team. Both these young fast bowlers have also played the role of net bowlers in IPL, in which Mani was with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team, while Rajneesh has played the responsibility of net bowler for the Delhi Capitals team. Rajneesh and Mani told about their journey so far along with their excellent performance in DPL in a special conversation with India TV.

After going to NCA, I got a chance to become a net bowler for RCB

Mani Grewal told that he started his career playing Under 19 from Delhi but that year I did not play a single match and after that Corona came. Last year I played for Delhi in Under 23 and was the highest wicket taker for my team in which I took 8 wickets in the last match. Due to this, the selectors’ eyes fell on me and they sent me to the Emerging Camp at NCA and after that in the IPL season that ended this year, I was with the RCB team as a net bowler. We got a chance to play in the Delhi Premier League, which is a very good thing for us because this is a platform where we can perform well and show it to everyone because all these matches are being shown live. With this, the selectors as well as the scouts of different teams can easily keep an eye on us. This is a very good experience for us.

As a net bowler, he bowled the most to Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik

Talking about his experience as a net bowler with the RCB team, Mani Grewal said that he bowled the most to Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik there. The experience of bowling to Virat Bhaiya was very good because the way he plays in the match, he bats in the nets in the same way as if a bowler from the opposing team is bowling. Bowling to him was a different kind of fun. After bowling in the nets, I used to talk to him in which Virat Bhaiya used to tell me which ball I bowled, which also increased my confidence. I have not only deceived Virat Kohli with my bowling in the nets, but have also outed him. He also said about the out ball that this ball of mine was very good.

Gave trials but did not get a chance but kept working hard

Rajneesh Dadar, who is playing for Central Delhi Kings in DPL, gave several trials including Under 16 and 19 but did not get a chance. After this, he is now impressing everyone with his talent in Delhi Premier League. Talking about his journey till here, Rajneesh said that many times I used to get angry when I was not selected even after giving trials because there were some bowlers who were not better than me but they were playing. However, I took this thing positively and continued working hard because that is in my hands. Now that I have got a chance, I will try to capitalize on this opportunity completely.

Rajneesh further said that this time he got a chance to bowl in the nets of Delhi Capitals team and everyone there praised him a lot, including coaches, scouts and some players. When I used to bowl in the nets, Ishant Sharma was also there at that time. I got to learn a lot from him because he has the experience of playing more than 100 Test matches, so I used to talk to him about the strategy of bowling in different formats. Apart from this, I used to talk about mindset with Ricky Sir and Sourav Sir.
