New Delhi. Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, continues to perform well in the T20 World Cup. Virat scored an unbeaten 62 off 44 balls in the match against the Netherlands, giving Team India a spectacular victory. Kohli added 73 runs for the second wicket with Rohit and 95 runs with Surya Kumar Yadav in an unbroken third wicket partnership. Virat Kohli has reached close to the world record in T20 World Cup.

This is Virat Kohli’s second consecutive fifty. Earlier, he had scored an unbeaten 82 off 53 balls in the first match against Pakistan. India won this match by four wickets. Overall 989 runs have been scored in Virat’s T20 World Cup. He has scored these runs in 21 innings of 23 matches. Kohli can become the second batsman to score 1000 runs in the T20 World Cup. Kohli has scored 144 runs in two matches of the current World Cup.

28 runs away from Virat world record
Experienced right-handed batsman Virat Kohli will become the highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup as soon as he scores 28 runs. At present, only Sri Lankan legend Mahela Jawardene is ahead of him. Jayawardene has scored a total of 1016 runs in 31 matches of the T20 World Cup, in which 122 not out is the best score. He has scored runs in the T20 World Cup at a strike rate of 138.45.

Kohli has scored 36 fifties
33-year-old Virat Kohli is currently the highest run-scorer in T20 International cricket. Kohli has scored a total of 3856 runs in 111 T20 Internationals. Team India’s captain Rohit Sharma comes after Kohli in this list. Rohit has scored 3794 runs in 144 matches. Kohli has 12 half-centuries to his name in the T20 World Cup, while overall 36 half-centuries have been scored in T20 International cricket.
