Anu Rani reached the final of the World Championship for the second time in a row, threw a javelin across 59 meters

Javelin Throw in World Championship 2022: Indian player Anu Rani has once again made it to the finals in the Javelin Throw event of the World Championship 2022. He entered the finals on Thursday in the qualification round of Group B by throwing 59.60m javelin. Now 12 players will be seen competing with each other in the final.

Anu had a poor start in the qualification round. He threw a foul in the first attempt. In the second attempt, he made a comeback with a javelin throw of 55.35 meters and then in the last attempt with a distance of 59.60 meters, he finished fifth in Group B. In this way, by combining Group-A and Group-B, she finished 8th and got a ticket to the final.

There is now a competition between 12 players in the World Championship Finals. The top-12 players of Group-A and B have got a place in the final. Players who threw a straight javelin at a distance of 62.50 meters in the qualification round got a ticket to the final. A total of three players have entered the final by throwing javelin over this mark.

63.82 meters is Anu’s best performance
29-year-old Anu Rani’s best performance of this season is 63.82 meters. This has also been his overall best performance. She was far behind this record in the World Championship, but despite this, she managed to reach the final.

Anu had reached the finals in 2019 as well.
Anu Rani had earlier also made it to the finals in the World Championships held in Doha in the year 2019. Then she finished eighth in the final with a throw of 61.12m. At the 2017 World Championships in London, she finished 10th in the qualification group and failed to make the final.
